Years ago I was working for a large company in Boston, we had a big project going on that required me to go in on a Saturday to meet up with a bunch of people up from our New Jersey office.
I was heading out the door when all of a sudden I got the oddest feeling - almost like a little panic attack. I stopped, put my keys down - and told my wife that I couldn't go. I felt like something bad was going to happen.
It was such a strong feeling I couldn't ignore it.
I've never felt anything like that before, or since.
I felt ridiculous - and not to mention so guilty about having to blow off my co workers who just drove 5 hours to meet with me. That's something I would never do even if I was sick.
But the feeling was THAT strong.
Later that night I had let it go and forgotten about it.
But then I got a call from my mother telling me my grandfather had passed away unexpectedly earlier in the day.
- THAT gave me goosebumps.
The instant she said it I KNEW there was a connection to what I felt earlier.
I'm not big on the supernatural kind of stuff - but that experience made me believe that there's at least some kind of connection in life that we're not really aware of.

Free settlers started to arrive, they followed the explorers across the mountains and where land was suitable set up farms. T
