That's really based on personal preference and application.
Some of the newer automotive cooling system clamps are really strong and work well. I will usually reuse them.
Also depends on the condition of the hose and the fitting. If reusing old, hard hose, on a rusty fitting, I would use a worm clamp so I can get it tighter.
Hydraulic return lines are too stiff for spring clamps, need the extra force of a gear clamp.
Good thing about a quality spring clamp is they take up the slack as the hose deteriorates. Worm clamps will not, and vibration can loosen them.
