Depends if you are talking a $500 tire on a $1000 tractor or a $500 tire in a $10000 tractor.
What do you think when you see new rubber on a machine:
-He takes good care of his stuff
-He wouldn't have put new tires on a piece of junk
-If the tires are new it probably has had good maintenance and been well kept up;
Now what do you think when you see one new tire:
-He put it on because he had to
-He didn't think the tractor would last long enough to justify new tires
-He couldn't afford a pair so what else has he skimped on
All of this and more is what goes through a persons mind when they form a first opinion.
Either scenario above may or may not be true but people pay based on what they see.
On one hand I have seen people pay top dollar for a polished turd and on the other hand I have bought things for cents on the dollar of what they were worth because somebody couldn't be bothered to at least try to make something presentable.
