There's a couple of intersections in Carbondale, IL that have the same "homeless" panhandlers there every day year round. They swap places, I guess in an effort to keep folks from realizing they're permanent fixtures. Wife and I happened to be at the local McDonalds and they were all in there together for breakfast, and were planning their strategy for the day. Nice appearing friendly folks, relatively clean cut, probably making more money than they would on minimum wage. I'm surprised the law doesn't crack down on them, but maybe there is no law against what they're doing. I have no problem feeding someone who is hungry, but they are making a business out of it on this street. They might make someone a good employee, that is if you could afford to pay them more than they're presently making. They certainly are prompt and dependable. Never miss a day of "work".
