Bob, you're right. when we started it up we thought we had it on low (friction disk drive, 7 speeds effectively) but actually had it on high. it really has three main speeds. fast, faster and bat outta hell. We ran it around the yard for a while and realized the clutch was way to far forward for us to use effectively so we had to do some adjusting including moving the steering wheel forward. its still a long reach, plus the fast speed and chain steering so it was a real learning experience. As I said, we are planning to actually cultivate with it at the show in sept. It will be an experience for sure.
Now, we actually have a 2 row as well. its a totally differnt machine with an autotrac style narrow front end and rear wheel spacing at 108 inches. We have not had that one running yet but you will have to stop at the rows with it.
Oldtanker, Heider and Rock Islands were the first tractors on our farm which si how we got back into them. Great grandpa couldn't get rid of the hayburner horses fast enough.
