I heard a story on the radio not long ago about a guy who's son started texting LOL to him,so he started using it when he texted or emailed other loved ones. Said he sent a message to his sister saying something like "So sorry that your husband left you. LOL" and things like that. When his son finally explained to him that it meant "laughing out loud" he said NO IT DOES'T! It means "lots of love". No Dad,laughing out loud. I don't even need to tell you how embarrassed he said he was about using that one wrong.
