He passed away Monday. He did not make it two weeks after he called me. Hate that he is gone. He was a great man. A good friend for many a year.
His wife and daughter came down today. They asked me to meet them at the farm. They wanted some of the dirt to take back an bury with him in WI. I gladly helped them. I included some Black berry roots as he loved wild black berries.
His wife invited me to his services. They will be next week as he wanted to be cremated. Plus his one son is over seas working and it is taking him a while to get home.
The daughter got me to the side and talked a little about the future of the farm. She wants things to stay the same other than she wants to refurbish the house some so they can use it as a weekend retreat. I told her I would help in any way I could.
The wife and daughter want to come back down in several weeks to go over what they want to do to the house an also look over the farm. They have his pictures, records and notes about the farm. (Some of which I would like some copies of. He took a bunch of pictures over the years of the different crops and harvest)
Just hearing them talk, it seems like the daughter will control the farm. They are structuring it so she will have a controlling interest even after the wife passes.
