I know what you mean. I've known, or known of quite a few guys who got their fingers skint when their ring caught on something. Just as bad, if not worse, was one that grounded out a hot wire with his and basically melted it to his finger.
Like I said I tried to wear mine for the first week or so, just because I wanted to wear it. Then I got it caught on something as I was climbing down off of a machine and, had I not caught myself, came close to removing the meat off of my own finger. That was the day I stopped wearing it when I was working.
