Compressed air alone wouldn't probably do much, but if you think its partially plugged this is one way to do it. Get some granulated swimming pool/hot tub chlorine and pour down the casing, then pour 3 gallons of water down to wash the chlorine down into the screen. Leave this sit a couple of days and then hook up a pump and try pumping it. You should look down the casing and run a tape measure down to get some idea where the water table is, if it's below 25 feet you are SOL! Yes if the casing has a hole rusted in it you should be able to run a 1 inch plastic line down inside with a foot valve on the bottom, this will make it easier to prime. If you are unsure of a well it should be treated with chlorine anyhow. If you call a well driller chances are he will just want to drill you a new well, $$$$$$!
