Ya'll probably heard about the idiot that started a fire in an air control equipment room at O'Hare Airport in Chicago and then tried (unsuccessfully) to commit suicide. It raised hell with flights at both O'Hare and Midway, and elsewhere across the country. Might be several weeks before repairs are made and things get back to normal.
Our daughter had plans to fly to Chicago this weekend to hang out with old college friends. (Yuppies can do that). Her flight Saturday morning from Omaha made it OK and on time. She found out yesterday her flight this morning from Chicago back to Omaha would be cancelled. Also the next one, and maybe none running all day.
Since she has to be at work in Omaha tomorrow morning, she did the only sensible thing, she rented a car and as this is written she's somewhere on the road between Chicago and Omaha.
Hope she gets compensation for her return airline ticket. If it ain't one dang thing, it's another.
