You need to look at the serial number breaks on the JD "B" tractors. The original head gasket number is a B368R. It is used on serial number B1000-59990. Basically all of the un-styled JD "B" tractors. Actually used more years than some of the later gaskets.
The styled tractors had more serial number breaks as the engine was changed over the years.
You can look this up on jdparts.com. It is a PDF file you can down load and store a copy. If your signed up you can also price the parts and see if your local JD dealer has them.
On YT the serial number selection looks like this:
As for using the old gasket. If it is not torn you can try using it over again but it may not work and you will have to redo all your work over and maybe dump water/antifreeze in the crank case.
Do use COPPER coat on any head gasket you do use on any JD two cylinder. Hang the gasket up and spray several coats on it allowing each to dry until it is tacky between each coat.
Sorry for coming down on you but posts asking about other places to buy parts when YT sells them just kind of ticks me off.
Now I do buy parts at other places but I don't advertise where or when on Kim's site. I just don't feel that is the polite thing to do.
