I was all Deere, went almost all Agco and short lines that the Agco dealer sells. I grew up with Oliver, went to Deere when the Oliver/White dealer here closed after the White Motor Company debacle, because of great personal service from everybody at the local Deere dealer. They got closed down because they weren't on Deere's master plan when they "positioned themselves for the future". I tried two locations of the same superstore with the same "redheaded stepchild" treatment. I found an Agco dealer who had been Oliver and White, about the same distance from home as the Deeremarts and they acted like they actually wanted my business,so everything Deere is gone from here. Bottom line,I went to Deere because of the dealer and left them for lack of one. Just for what it's worth,I have a CaseIH forage harvester and grain drill and from what little business I've done with the CaseIH dealer, they seem to be great. Same thing with the New Holland dealer. I've got a New Holland grinder mixer and one of their salesmen lives right out east of town here. He'll bring parts home with him at night and drop them right off at my door. He's been selling a pretty fair whack of stuff around here himself.
