I had always worried about a revolving PTO shaft if it separated. One day I got my answer and the weight of the shaft solved the problem. It just fell to the ground and bounced around in a circle of about 6".
Also one time I had a bolt come out holding the 3 pt bracket on a rotary mower. Had a lock washer rather than a self locking nut. I didn't notice it till in a turn and it was almost vertical. Thank goodness got her shut down.
Fix included all locking nuts and Pfffffft with the lock washers.
