This is a problem with aging, and doing something so much that you switch on "autopilot" ! Like we were talking about recently, did you really look in the mirror or not? And if you did, you'll never remember it.
I remember when I was disgusted with my father for doing things out of habit. Guess who's guilty now? Just got auto steer for a tractor. I used it to plant 90 acres of wheat. Right after I finished we headed to town for supper and groceries. I pulled out of the driveway onto the road, straightened out, and took my hands of the wheel!!! Fortunately I caught myself right away. And the wife didn't notice!
