I have seen photos of several Case/DB 1594 and 1690s done with 354s, 354T, and a 372. Not a simple task because of how the DB frame, engine, and clutch housing are designed. The 6 cylinder DB engine didn't live up to its designers expectations... If I could find a good 1594 with a blown engine I would probably do it myself.
I know of a few old Ford pickups with 354s around my area.
I briefly entertained repowering my C70 Chevy with a 540 or 640... but simply too many projects on the plate right now.
