I wish NYC had kept its original name of "New Amsterdam." It would of made things much less confusing for the 99% of the state that has nothing to do with the "Big Apple" sewer at the bottom. Even though NYC is way at the bottom, the state government is run by NYC wackos. Also - NYC gets all its drinking water from rural and and more northern areas. 2000 square miles of rural watershed. A bunch of reservoirs all piped underground. So even 150 miles north - there are New York City water police running around.
