An acquaintance was always a cheapskate. He didn't want to pay $25 to dispose of an old fiberglass boat, so he tried burning it. The thick black smoke blew straight into his neighbor's house that had the windows open. When the neighbor got home the house stunk of the smoke, so the neighbor called the fire department and the sheriff. The fire department put out the fire and fined him. The sheriff wrote a damage report. The neighbor sued for the cost to steam clean his house and his insurance company paid for the damages. That was just the way that guy did things.
