At what moisture can 40 degree or colder corn be put in a cement floor /no air flow bin, for safe storage until april or may? Also, I have some 12% old crop corn that I am wondering if it would be safe to put in an empty no air/no sump cement floor bin and fill just above the point where the unload auger brings it down to, and then put higher moisture corn in to use to keep grain wagons moving and unload into semis as they are able to come and would not be in there for more than a week, unloading from wagons is a PIA. Would I be OK? moisture will be from 19%-16% on the corn going into the bin on top of the OC 12%. Just trying to make a one/two man show a little more efficient.
