Well I looked at it again this weekend and I figured out why it was getting to hot. I had the pressure line from the pump hooked to the in port on the valve for the lift cylinders! I swapped the lines and now it dosen't get hot, however it still don't work. I think it's the control valves. When I got it somebody had a bolt stuck in the relief valve and the check vale didn't have a spring or metal ball. I guessed and tried to replace the missing parts but I think I just need to replace it. Where can I get a good price on one? It needs to be open center I believe. 2 spools one single acting and one double 1/2" in lines and 3/4" returns and it has a big hose on the bottom returning to the tank. My wife is about ready to kill me over this thing and the money I've spent so far i gave $250.00 for it and $100.00 in gas to go get it. Add in a new pump, bracket, one hyd line and complete drive line and now I'm in for about $750.00. I'm sure you know how moma gets about money spent on our toys!! Thanks for your help my friends.
