Sounds like a low voltage(24 volt) problem. Make sure panels on furnace are in place and tight,especially one you remove to chande filter. If you don't know which wires/connections are 24/120/240,set your meter to 250 or higher to prevent damage in the event a mistake is made. Start with transformer,24v out? No? Transformer is marked for primary,normaly 240v,do you have 240v? No? Check furnace breaker and/or power coming into furnace. Got 240 into transform but less than 20 out? Replace transformer. All is well with transform? Set t-stat for fan ON and examine/jiggle low volt wires at t-stat and furnace to see if one is loose/broke. That is about as far as a diyer can go on his own. You will need to call a tech or have someone go with you one step at a time.
