About the same thing happened to me.I was on a long steep hill doing 40-45 MPH when a guy in a pickup came up behind me.He must have been in a big hurry,he had to slow down from 55 or so.When he got the chance he passed me at full throttle.Two fiberglass step ladders in the bed.A slight curve up ahead and he was gone from view.I heard a heck of a clatter and as I rounded the curve I saw one of the ladders skidding up the hill.He continued on for nearly a 1/4 mile before stopping.He was doing some serious cursing as I went by.
