I think at the time Ford owned a big chunk of Mazda. I had about a 1980 Courier for a while but it was kind of a junky, flimsey thing. I had 2 LUVs too and they were a much better machine. Had to hold the stick shift in 4th gear with a bungee cord toward the end. Best mini pickup I ever owned was a Datsun - about a 78. I've actually considered looking for one to use for general running around. Toyotas were supposed to be top notch too but I never owned one.
