I have heard many folks talk about where they were and what they were doing when life changing events occured in the USA, such as:
1. Where were you what were you doing when Kennedy was shot?
2. Where/doing.... the Challenger blew up?
3. Where/doing.... the Columbia blew up on reentry?
4. Where/doing.... the 9/11 attacks occurred.
5. Where/doing.... we invaded Iraq on 1-17-91 (it might have been the 16th I do not remember) Watching missles and bombs go down stove pipes on national news was very hi-tech and cool.
I was not born when Kennedy was hit, I was in the 11th grade when the Challenger blew up coming back from lunch-I heard it on the radio and thought it was a sick joke then I got into class and the principal went on the PA system and announced it. I was driving to the hardware store in 2003 when the Columbia blew up first thought it was a terrorist attack or something. I was at work when the 9/11 attacks happened, watching the world trade center towers fall was very shocking. I was in a college class when we started bombing Iraq in 91.
