I understand why shops will give a little to get a little, but think about how auto repair works. The guy in the back probably gets paid by piece work, so he got paid nothing. These situations are why I went into business for my self. The manager of the store wanted to give you something so you come back and buy a full set of tires. It only cost the manager a couple bucks on his monthly bonus, but it just took $10 immediately from the guy who did the work.
