Sorry to have not followed up. I took it to a local shop Tuesday. It appeared to have dropped a valve seat again, which causes or can cause broken piston, bent rod, cracked head or other nasty expensive issues. The vehicle has been retired and will probably be heading to China soon. Between the car dying and a terrible medical diagnosis for the wife (driver) this has been a pretty depressing week.
