Went to visit my two oldest grandchildren (7 and 10; that have been living in Germany the past 5 years) in eastern North Carolina (Aberdeen; Ft Bragg area) for the holidays.
Since we brought back a lot of baby/toddler stuff my son was giving to his sister we made the trip in my old pickup (1998 F150 no cruise). Now my legs and lower back are paying for it.
One rear tire flat (on the 285 loop around Atlanta of all places) and 885 miles each way and we are back home safe. Took us 12½ hours driving time and 14¼ hours total time (each way) so I think we made good time.
Nice country in the Aberdeen area of N.C. Saw plenty chicken and/or turkey farms in the area.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.
I know I did.
