Over the years, I've bought and sold all sorts of stuff. Some was sitting in my front yard with a sign on it. Some was in someone elses yard. A few times I listed stuff in newspaper classifieds. Then I've bought and sold with internet classifieds, on here, on Craigslist, and on a Facebook "yard sale" page we have in our immediate area.
Long story short, I've had some deals that went like clockwork. Some were like pulling teeth. Some buyers/sellers act like they couldn't possibly care any less. Some are "Johnny on the spot". You get all kinds....I can't say one method of buying/selling is any more (or less) foolproof than any other. No more scams with one sales method than another. No more (or less) numbskulls to deal with than with another. You'll hear all sorts of deals, promises, and ways of doing things.
Like my dad used to say...."Until it's in the frying pan, it's just a fish story".
