I have a very early model GC2300 and after 600+ hours I have been very satisfied. Most of the hours have been spent mowing and running a log splitter from a dedicated valve mounted on the rear deck. I mow about 4 acres and have found this type of tractor to be a good cross between a garden tractor and compact utility. They are more maneuverable and low-slung than a utility (which is a big plus for lawn mowing) but are much more rugged and capable than a garden tractor.
Although this tractor (and all sub-compacts for that matter) have a Category 1 hitch it is lower to the ground than a regular tractor. Although most standard implements can be hooked up they may not be able to be raised high enough to be very usable. There are dedicated Cat 1 implements made for sub-compacts available.
The most serious problem I have had is blowing out a seal from the rockshaft control shaft but this was a fairly straightforward repair.
I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of after-market parts support. Any Massey dealer should be able to get anything you need and from my experience needing to obtain repair parts has been a very infrequent occurrence.
These tractors were/are made by Iseki in Japan and I would consider the quality to be equal to the other small Japanese tractors on the market.
