Well, in my part of MN it would be high. On the other hand, $500 doesn't get you much at all. If there was room to move a little, I'd be pretty comfortable in that $700-$800 range myself. If $500 got me something " needing a little work", and $800 got me a machine that was truly field ready, I'll spend the $800 and be ready when the time to plant comes.
