At Christmas, I wanted to buy a gift, 4 bar stools. I could only find them on Amazon. My sister is a big fan of Amazon Prime. So she ordered them, I paid for them with my CC. 2 days later there were delivered to my front door, 4 large boxes.
Sister pays $99 a year for Amazon prime membership. She does a lot of shopping in Amazon. Claims her membership is paid for, free postage on any order not just some over $25, in one month.
So, I checked into it. Thought about it. Waited, First offer Amazon sent me was one free month. Waited, Second offer Amazon sent was one year for $72. So I decided to bite on second offer. While filling out application, Amazon sweetened up the offer by taking off another $30 if I get a Amazon CC. So for $42/year I have Amazon Prime.
Sometimes I do the same thing on ebay. Look at an item I want to buy. Wait a few days, ebays sends me an email, "Are you still looking for this item, lower price." So it pays to bait ebay and wait.
Even if I don't buy a thing from Amazon, I think I coming out ahead of the game. The Boss likes to read books with Kindle off Amazon, which some are free. We currently have netflix, about $8 or $9 a month. There appear to be some of the same free moves to stream off Amazon.
So if all I did was steam movies, I would be close to the price of netflix. Not to mention free books on Kindle, free postage.
If you have Amazon prime, what do you think of it?
