Not sure if it's set up the same or not, but I had an old speed queen that started slinging grease out from under the agitator. Long story short, the seal let water into the gearbox and the gear oil floated back out the seal.
I had replaced the seal once prior and the bushing and shaft were showing wear and pitting this time so I junked it.
It's probably fixable, but may be rather involved.
