The drug test is separate. There is a federal law that states companies must drug test CDL drivers; Pre employment §382.301 Post accident §382.303 Random §382.305 Reasonable suspicion §382.307 If you fail you have to completed the return to duty process with a DOT-qualified substance abuse professional and be tested again to make sure you are clean.
These same rules apply even if you are a one man company.
