So, if this is the virtual coffee shop, why is the forum titled Tractor Talk?
I never much objected to the majority of the off topic posts. I would like to see it stay at least more oriented towards farming. Seed drills, combines, plows, haybines, etc. all seem to fit right in with the whole farming theme. But, if this is to be just an open forum, why bother having a topic heading at all? The topic heading is what draws me to this forum to start with. I don't read the brand specific forums because the headings do not attract my interest. When I want to talk about my other interests and hobbies, I go to the related forums to do that. I don't think that the other YTers are interested in model building, knitting, sewing, quilting, fishing, or coin collecting - at least not so much on this forum.
I choose not to talk about football because it does not interest me. From the majority of the posts here, there are a majority that simply do not care. I have no problem with others being interested in sports, but I also think that there are plenty of sports forums to post on. I just get so tired of having it in my face throughout the season. So why clutter up a tractor forum with football? Maybe Chris and Kim will put up a sports forum so that the football talk will be right at home.

This same package applies to any hydraulic system from the largest bulldozer to the oldest and smallest tractor. This short series will take a look at the basic layout of a simple hydraul
