If it is like around here the realtor will not tell you much by choice. If you have the time check out deed transfer records a lot of which can be viewed online with the right operating program. To be honest it is the best way to separate the bull from the truth. There is one guy out there near me that has about a half dozen different stories going as to what he has sold or will sell his farm for. As I have said before land quality at least here can vary greatly within a half mile. So the ground that sold "cheap" for X most likely is significantly inferior to the ground that sold for Y. I know of a land sale with info verified where the seller got Midwest type prices but the soils were of high quality, irrigation was practical, and BTO competition was fierce. Go 15 miles away in a lot of directions and the land sells for far far less.
