I have had several dealings with the Amish around the Long Prairie, MN area.
All have been good guys. They they are shrewd but fair businessmen. I think they quite enjoy the touristy people that think they are simpletons.
The two I know pretty well are both named Eli. One has a full blown machine shop. All his equipment is run off jack shafts running through his floor and along the walls powered by a yanmar diesel motor that sits outside his building. It is a really cool setup. The other is our farrier.
They are up to date on current events, and have plenty of opinions to offer. Both enjoyable guys to visit with. BW
