Are you 100% positive it was fully closed and had stopped moving when you last closed it? Just me but when I see it's headed down I go about my business confident it will close. I've had times when... I know it will shut with an air hose under it, but turns out not if the air hose is in the very center of the door--it reversed. Once it reversed when a chunk of ice happened to be under it.
I'm sure too that if the tracks are tight and it starts to bind even due anything including wet and frozen wheels it might encounter resistance and reverse.
