I guess I've got to be the "odd man out" here. I have no hatred for coyotes. I find them to be interesting and beautiful animals. Am I against hunting or trapping? No. Did it myself for years but usually had a reason based on getting meat or money for the fur.
I raised goats and sheep for 30 years in central New York. Had many coyotes around and often found their tracks near my barns. Yet - they never bothered any of my animals. Not like the fox, weasels, and raccoons did !
I understand killing them in an area where there are major problems. But if they can't live here in this rural area - I don't know where the heck they CAN live. We humans we do a heck of a lot more damage to all around us then any coyote will ever do. But yeah, they get hungry and have to eat. So they certainly have to get what they can, where then can. If I had problems based on local coyote population - I'd start killing them. That because I figure I'm making my lifestyle more important then their's Not going to hate them for trying to live though.
