Speaking of Front street. Where did it go. When we were kids living down by Minn Lake and Wells, a twice a year trip to Mankato was a real big deal. They had three five & dime stores right next to each other. Dad liked candy too so he always came home with three or four different kinds bought out of those bulk display cases. Several years ago, daughter went to school in Mankato and we were driving around. I could not believe it, where did all those stores and busy shopping street disappear to. Well, I know they went up the hill to all those Malls but it was just unbelievable what happened to Front street.
