I agree with the others : an 8yr old battery may be draining the newer one:if it is it may get warm.To check for amp draw disconnect the neg cable and make sure nothing works.Then set your multimeter 10a scale.Measure between the cable and post:as the modules power up the reading will be higher then drop as the modules go to sleep.It may take 2 minutes,but your reading should be .2a to .5a.If too high,pull fuses,disconnect alternater til you find the draw.Mark
