He was teaching computer at a nearby very large high school, and his kids were in 4H with a sheep project with our kids. He got it in his head that he wanted to farm. He found a good deal on a farm in Fowler. We were talking and I asked him if it was a free stall or tie stall barn. He answered "What?" So they packed up and became dairy farmers. The seller helped them with the first milking and was gone. Another friends son went with them and was a big help, and his kids had a good upbringing there on the farm, even though it was tough going most of the time. They sold the cattle off about two years ago. Last time I was up there about 15 years ago it sure looked like a pretty depressed economy.
