Charlotte M. Helmlinger September 30, 1950 - March 16, 2015 Charlotte M. “Char” Helmlinger, 64, of Wapakoneta, died 8:22 a.m., Mon. March 16, 2015, at Lima Memorial Health System, following a sudden illness. She was born Sept. 30, 1950, in Toledo, OH, the daughter of Raymond & Evelyn (Fleck) Karbowiak, Sr., who preceded her in death. On Jan. 7, 1978, she married Lester L. Helmlinger, and he survives. Other survivors include, 2 sons, Charles (Holly) Lindsey, Indianapolis, IN, & Craig Lindsey, KY; 7 grandchildren, 5 siblings, Ray (Deborah) Karbowiak, Jr., Lima, Ann (Dean) Brotherwood, St. Marys, Mark Karbowiak, Wapakoneta, Chuck Karbowiak, Cridersville, & Carol Jean Gilbert, Celina; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandchild. Char worked at Lowe's Home Improvement, and also at McDonald's, both of Wapakoneta. She had previously at Quality Farm & Fleet, Central Tractor, ALCO, and Val's. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Fryburg, and a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. She was also a member of the Buckeye Farm Antiques, Logan Co. Antique Club, the Shelby Co. Antique Club, and the Van Wert Co. Farm Antiques. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Fri. March 20, 2015, at the St. John Catholic church, Fryburg, Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Thurs. at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
