The 580 is back on the road (or dirt!). I posted last week that the 8 pin connector running forward from the cab to front (power feed, solenoid, alt, inj pump, etc) was corroded to all get out.
I thought for the longest time my battery was weak. Slow cranking or no cranking, starter clicking were all the symptoms. A couple people told me to check this connector first. I found it, but had to be a gymnast to get to it.
Pulled the connector apart it was full of corrosion. Spent the last weekend almost standing on my head with the floor of the cab out working on this connector. New soldered and heat shrunk conections, we are done. Cost, maybe $10 for a few connectors I didnt have.
JDSeller was one on here that also said check the connector first.
