I too am annoyed with the loud pipes, I also own and drive a Harley . There was a time when Harley had a exhaust sound all its own ,for the past thirty years or so most every motorcycle manufacturer has tried to duplicate the sound and has done a poor job of it . Bike owners of other brands want their 8000.00 bike to sound like a 25000.00 Harley so they install load pipes in the hopes that it will sound like a Harley . Harley Davidson changed their engine design in 1985 and in my opinion they haven't sounded like a Harley since . I ride a bone stock 1947 Harley and it really sounds nice with open pipes.
