I went to the local big box store and got something for the job for my new shop at the time. Put it down as directed. Had plastic underlayment to control ground moisture.
In short it was a waste of time. So this time I still used the underlayment which works fine as long as you aren't going through a temperature change with high humidity.....floor and everything else sweats regardless....it's air temp and moisture, not dirt temp/moisture.
So my new shop floor looks like the old one. I usually have a spill every time I change the oil on something. Just happens with the best laid plans. I gave up on it and said ok there'll be a mess. I put the absorber on the mess and after it has done it's job the spot is not nearly as bad looking as I had anticipated. Besides, like anything else, once the new wears off who cares. Yeah I keep a tidy shop but there are limits and it IS a workplace.....mine is anyway.
