Reason serial number lists have serial 12516 as the 1953 starting number is above the second red line. SMDV 12516 first built in Jan. IH had some kind of holdup on the diesel tractor builds the last part of 52 and first of 53. Serial 12516 didn't get a finish build until March. SMD serial 12919 was a carry over from 52. Then see how far the serial jumped in Feb. Like I said your tractor serial number was built in August 52 unless it has a diesel engine.
