I had an elderly landlady like that. She and her husband milked cows on the property for years and farmed the same way the whole time, with whatever beat-out junk he brought home from the auctions. No-till was no good, gotta plow. Then complain about soil erosion. Go to conservation tillage. Then want organic and no GMO. OK, someone tries to do that. Then complain about what a mess the place looks like and suddenly no-till and chemical-intensive guy gets it. During all this, running older equipment was better, then new paint was better, then back and forth . . . . .
