In August 2014 we were parked in public car park when another drive side swiped the other rear corner of our car. He got out, looked and drove off at speed. When we returned a witness told us what had happened and gave us the other car registration plate number.
Reported the accident to the police who finally took the other driver to Court this April. He got $240 fine + Court costs and 3 penalty points on his driving licence - Justice done!
Immediately after the accident I took the car into the same body shop for a quotation thinking I would have to pay for the repair myself. The quote was $360 + tax.
Now my insurance company can make a claim off the offending driver's insurance policy after he was convicted.
Took the car to body shop for them to quote insurance company.
Because its an insurance claim their quote is $945 + tax!!!
