I hauled livestock to National Stockyards in East St.Louis, Illinois in the early 1960's and hailing back loads of Corno feed, Corno was the brand name for feeds made by National Oats Company of that location. The mill was about a block south on St.Clair Avenue from the unloading pens. This was the poorest paying job I ever had. The dairy feed came in 100 pound burlap bags and all other feeds were in 50 pound paper bags. I got $8.50 for round trip when minimum wage was $1.25 per hour. about 100 miles each way.
