Being that the sleeve is in the pan, the most likely cause is the bore in the block is no longer a press fit. This allows the sleeve to slide up and down and break the flange off , when it comes down the crank makes little pieces of it. The counter bore is most likely bad and needs a counter bore repair insert. AND what ever you do don't buy a genuine ford gasket as it does not pass over the flange to hold it tight, Mccord does. If the counter bores are not even and within spec , you may need to plane the deck and recut the counter bores.
