Yup, depends on the job. I have an M Farmall that I go to for small loader jobs or grinding feed. I love the narrow front for moving the mixer grinder just where I need it. I have an A that only gets used once a year to cultivate my sweet corn patch. I feel bad that it just sits there, but it does get to see a little elevator time during hay season, too.
I grew up only IH, but there just isn't any dealer support for anything but green here. Everything else I use is green. I like feeding with the 4020. The 4440 is a great spraying and general use tractor, and I love the 7800 for planting. It has FWA so there is a lot of piece of mind with it. Farming alone means you walk home!
I have an 8430 that I disc and cultivate with and I hate that thing. It is a perfectly good tractor but that cab is a mess. It lets in so much filth and is noisier than an freight train. She's like a poopy work boot- purely utilitarian and nothing you would like to play with. All of the others I don't mind a days work in/on.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
